Biography: 

Timothy Pearson holds a bachelor's degree in English from Dominican College (1988) a master's degree in rhetoric from U.C. Davis (1992) and did doctoral work in discourse analysis at the University of Amsterdam. He taught as a civilian instructor teaching English composition, literature and public speaking aboard US Navy vessels in Asia, Australia and the Middle East.  He also spent several years teaching English composition, business writing, speech and critical thinking in Egypt at the American University in Cairo and in Morocco at Al Akhawayn University. He currently teaches at Cal Poly Humboldt and College of the Redwoods in Arcata, California, where he resides with his wife and daughter.
